Born and raised in Toronto, worked and went to school 2 streets over and have visited the market many times. So you think I would know something! After taking this tour I realize there was a lot more to know. Ian greeted us with yummy chocolate croissants and took us in for a coffee to go. He explained we were... More

I have been on a number of food tours with this company and have never been disappointed. The St.Lawrence market tour is one of my favourites - not only do you get to experience the best samples across the market but you get a great history walk along the way of Torontos oldest neighbourhood. I highly recommend this tour to... More

It is unusual for a local like myself to go on a tour in my own city, but I was given a chance to go on the Queen/King West Brunch tour from Culinary Adventure Company and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. The tour gave a pretty good intro to the area and... More

I recently took the Little Italy tour, and it was an amazing evening with friendly company, great wine, and TONS of delicious food. The guide was exceptionally knowledgable and created a wonderful dynamic with the group. I can't wait to go back to eat some of those dishes again and again.

I had a chance to attend the Brunch Tour by the Team at Culinary Adventure Co, this past weekend. Luckily we had glorious warm weather perfect for walking downtown. We had 2 people with our group from the company. It was the first time doing the Brunch tour for one and the other was very knowledegeable about things in the... More

Had such a great time on this tour. I took the Riverside/Leslieville Tour because I'm not normally in that area as much. WOW!!! There are so many restaurants and places to eat in this area that this is almost like the new up and coming secret new hot spot in downtown Toronto. Learned a lot about the area including history... I was lucky enough to partake in the Kensington + Chinatown tour and quickly understood why Forbes Magazine rated it Top 9 Food Tours in the world. Kevin and Leo were our guides, and had so much knowledge to share with us. Not only do you learn the best spots to eat, but you learn how to appreciate and enjoy... More

We took this tour while on vacation in Toronto. We are a family of four with two teen boys. First, we were greeted with chocolate pastries and then to get a coffee or latte ( hot chocolate for the boys). We then heard the history of the St. Laurence Market, the New building going up across the street, st. James... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
