Everybody should support the effort to create a nude bathing beach that is not synonymous with the hanlans crowd. Super sketchy nude bathing with people blasting music smoking pot n taking pics right next to you....fully clothed. I enjoy whatever quiet space I can get until they show up then I leave.

Just 5 min away from the Toronto Harbour is this great island with a lot of beaches and BBQ places. A great way to leave the city. Hanlan's point is also the gay beach and a lot of people visit it during the week.

Went for a BBQ in the non nude beach area. The beach was very clean and beautiful. The views of the city were amazing as well, amazing sunset too! A bit of a trip to get there ( water taxi, then lots of walking) however well worth it. Not sure if it is dog friendly however I had my dog... More

This is the western area of the Toronto Islands. There are a couple of refreshment stands on Hanlan's and there are washrooms, some with a shower, along the paved path that runs along the point. At the end closest to the city is the Island Airport (Billy Bishop Airport) but it is fenced in. You can however get close enough... More

Have been going here for some time and always enjoy the mixing and mingling of everyone. I believe that this is one of the nicest beaches (swimsuit or not) in the GTA. It's large, spacious and doesn't require fighting with the moody beach goers that you sometimes get with other beaches.

Harlan's Point is on one of the islands in Toronto Harbour. The nude / clothing optional part of the beach is the subject of this review. Easy to get to (Quick ferry from downtown plus 10 minute walk). Sand ok, but a bit gritty. Showers and toilets on or near the beach. So far so good. The main let-down is... More

Great beach! probably my favourite one for the Toronto area. Forget Cherry Beach. I've been coming to Hanlan's since 2002 and I just love it. It's a quick ride from downtown Toronto on a nice little ferry and the water is clean too. I always check the Blue Flag certification (a grade given to Ontario beaches) and this beach's e-coli... Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
