Not much here anymore - only about 3 blocks - and maybe a third of the businesses are Vietnamese, not Chinese. And several businesses have closed in the last year. No, there are not hundreds of restaurants as another poster posted. He must have been thinking of the other downtown Chinatown. But there are a few good ones. I recommend... More

Visited Chinatown East in Toronto during my recent day out. It is smaller than the Chinatown along Spadina. Located on Gerrard Street between Broadview and Howland Drive, it is home to loads of shops, Chinese eateries and the such like. A quick visit is an option during your Toronto trip.

Hundreds, literally , of restaurants. Lot of inexpensive touristy "junk" not worth the bother- But Chinatown itself is great.Korean eateries , IMO, are the best

East Chinatown is much smaller than the one running along Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue. As such, supermarket and dining options are fewer. Parking is also hard to come by at times. I prefer to buy Chinese groceries in north Scarborough (T & T) and dine in Markham as there are higher end restaurants there.
