I have been to rebel a few times now... And this is what I have to say about the nightclub. 1. Don't bother brining a purse because people will pick pocket that and you won't have a phone or wallet by the end of the night -maybe replace phone with a loaded mouse trap? - 2. Incredibly desperate men... Who... More

Club crowd: The demographic was 70% male, mostly south Asian men. The club let in WAY too many people, with no vetting process it seemed. I had my butt grabbed by five different people who thought it appropriate to surprise grab and run? The men in the crowd were VERY rude, grabbing without asking and name-calling if we didn't want... Been here a few times for various "Rock" shows and a super nice place, far superior now compared to before renovations. sound is better bathrooms are better, bars better Etc. a couple of concerns that gave it a low score, and these are just my opinions. Lack of variety of beer, only serve 3 or 4 types of beers which... More

This is a great venue for a gig, really good view of the stage from all angles. Drinks are expensive but what else would you expect! Also a bit out of the way to get to. Parking is expensive if you go right next to the venue but if you drive further down to Cherry Beach then you can get... More

First and last visit, even though sound was terrific. Be prepared to stand for entire show unless you are willing to spend $200+ for bottle service. Sight lines terrible. Probably a decent spot for dancing. We'd have to go back to find out. Not going to happen. We'll look for Sting again at Massey Hall or any other venue with... More

Pleasantly surprised with the venue. Parking is a big problem but other than that is good. Heat was on in the outer corridor to combat the Canadian chill. Entry was problem free. Corona $8.50, not bad, from scantily clad bar staff. No real seating but the small venue setting has good sound.

Out of my group of friends, three of us had phones and/or wallets stolen while in this club in the past 3 months. Security is no help at all, they just shrug their shoulders....It is not right that people sneak up by you, open up your purse and take your things...My phone was taken right out of my bag last... Ripped off for New Years Eve. Clearly sold more tickets than capacity to make a lot of profit. As a result they didn't allow a lot of people in

First time at rebel to see DVBBS, my fav DJ's... seen them many times at many great venues with such amazing staff... but rebel was the first place I've ever felt uncomfortable. The amount of people in the building was absolutely ridiculous and at times a little frightening. I walked in and was rudely yelled at that coat check has... More

My girlfriend and I went to Rebel on Sat. Dec.10. We registered to the guestlist prior to going. Upon getting there at 10 we were first in line, very little wait time, which was awesome as it was quite cold out. Staff were AMAZING! Very helpful, polite and genuine. Got into the club and was awed by the decor, lighting,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
