Need to kill a few hours and like beer? Steam Whistle brewery is the place for you! The moment you walk in the door you're made to feel welcome. Had a beer at the bar while waiting for our tour to start. Then off to a very informative tour and another beer fresh off the line. Our tour guide was... More

I'm not into beer but I really enjoyed the tour and trying out Steam Whistle. The tour didn't take too long and was interesting. You get a beer whilst touring! Some areas are very loud, but the tour guide hooks her mic up to earphones so it's easier to hear him/her.. Smell of hop can be a bit over bearing... More

I have always wanted to stop here and never had the time. They offer free samples of their beer as well as tours of the brewery. Unfortunately for us, all tours were full before we arrived on Saturday afternoon, so plan accordingly! Great staff and friendly atmosphere! Limited menu.

Touring headsets so the tour guide doesn't have to scream over a crowd = Awesome. Free beer during the tour = Unexpectedly more awesome. Free samples before the tour = epicly awesome. We went on a crowded, cold holiday (11/11) ((also my husbands birthday)) so there was more people than expected because the states usually don't get that holiday off... More

The brewery's central location, fantastic staff & tour, and historical setting, make it a must see when in Toronto. I'm from Toronto and have been several times, either for a tour, event, or casual beer. If you are visiting, you should definitely pop by. Oh yea, the beer is also good and they now have snacks.

It beer wasn't for me but we were curious and stopped in. The staff was very nice and friendly even when we arrived minutes prior to closing. They were extremely accommodating.

My wife and I had a great time. I am a huge Steamwhistle fan, and it was so much fun. We were welcomed with two free samples right when we walked through the door. We went on the tour and our guide was Lizzy. She was amazing, and there was not a question she could not answer. She was informative... More

I've been on the brewery tour many times and it's always fun and cheap. If you ever need to pass an hour before a jays game it's a great way to do it. And the beer is as fresh as it gets

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
