A must see! We wandered in yesterday and were warmly greeted and offered samples!! The tour is cheaper online, so we bought tickets and came back today. Again, greeted with samples and they were nice enough to change our tour time since we were hours early. Robin out your guide was adorable and we even got to meet one of... More

The folks at Steam whistle did a bang up job at putting together a fun and celebratory St Patrick's day party. The people at the entrance were welcoming, the inside was ready to have fun. The band and dancers hired for the night kept the party feeling true to the day. Food was ok, brought in from the Irish Embassy.... More

Steamwhistle makes one beer and it makes it well. It was a brilliant move to build a brewery in the old roundhouse. Great tourer, great beer. Well worth a stop before or after the CN tour or the aquarium.

When in Toronto for my convention, we walk across the street from the convention center to the "Whistle". It makes one beer here (light Pilsner) and gives free sample tasting before you need to buy. Beer is fresh and light while food fare is simple and not too large, but compliments the cold beer. It is a fun place to... More

We had some time between the Ripleys aquarium and catching our train back home, so we decided to check out this distillery. They had a one-man band playing and he was awesome. If you want to take the tour I would suggest reserving a time before you arrive because they were sold out when we arrived. I'm not a beer... More

Would recommend this tour. It's interesting, the Steam Whistle story is a good one showing recent history of the area too. Get to sample the beer as you go round. This venue can be hired out for events, a real quirky one for a party/wedding.

I had a great time today at the Steam Whistle Brewery for my birthday! They not only gave me a birthday button, but they let my friend and I in for free. We were treated like friends and the tour guide answered all of our questions. We got 3 free beer samples too! I would recommend as a fun and... More

We visited Steam Whistle while on a long weekend in Toronto and had the best time! Our tour guide Tyler was wonderful, very knowledgeable. James behind the bar was great, knew a ton about the area and made lots of great recommendations. Steam Whistle was definitely one of the high points of our trip. Beer was great, wish we could... Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
