We went on a Tuesday with 2 kids under age 4 and it was perfect. We had a light stroller for our littlest child and could access most areas. Some buildings required stairs but there were a lot with ramps that we could still access....More

Great site. But the lack of historical interpreters and activities, make me question the rather lofty admission cost. I get the feeling it has experienced some sort of government budget cuts.

I really enjoyed my visit! They went all-out to re-equip this fort, every building I went into was loaded. The people/actors were topnotch, really into their characters and very knowledgeable about fur trading and 1816 times. There is a lot of walking, not only is...More

I've been coming since it opened, first as a child, now I bring my children. A lot of fun, and very educational. Will be going again this year when we visit TB.

My grade 4/5 class spent an overnight trip at Fort William Historical Park. Safety concerns due to high water led to the cancellation of our canoe trip and the visit of a small bear near the wigwam made us decide to sleep in the East...More

Has dozens of trained re-enactors dressed in 1814 costumes. They explain the buildings and life at a voyageur trading post. The "living history" reminds me of Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia, but with more of a frontier setting (and much less expensive to enter). The location...More

Our tour guide was extremely knowlegable and taught us a great deal about Canadian history. Wonderfully kept grounds, animals were awesome and the cafe food good for the price.

At least 2 to 3 hours. Take your time, enjoy the farm and aboriginal encampment. Many buildings and stories to be told by the actors.

Sometimes there are sponsored events outside the fort by the parking areas. I would check the event schedule to see what might be happening in July. Enjoy your visit!
