We had a good time visiting and taking a tour to find amethyst samples to take home. They can provide you with a hammer upon request and give you a decent size pail to collect your rocks. You can walk away with quite a bit...More

We really enjoyed our time here. We were given a very interesting history of the mine and saw some pretty impressive amethyst on display. We also enjoyed searching for our own amethyst in the large open area - you could spend a serious amount of...More

I wasn't sure which amethyst mine to visit on our recent stay in Thunder Bay. We ended up here after a quick perusal of reviews. Indeed, it is rustic. I gather that you can get a more polished experience at Panorama for significantly more money....More

We went with our 2 daughters and it was a lot of fun! I recommend the tour as an educational add-on to understand the mine and Amethyst itself. Mining was fun for the kids to dig and just play with rocks. Items were a little...More

Can't say enough great things about our visit. Awesome experience, educational and just something fun and different for the family. So interesting how amethyst forms. No entry fee like another mine. Just pay for the bucket. $10 for a 1 gallon, $20 for a 2...More
