My husband and I went to Petroglyphs Provincial Park on our vacation to the Kawartha Lakes Region. We almost missed the quiet white sign at the side of the road! The Learning Place is a very nice information stop on the way to the actual...More

Protected by a large dome, the massive rock with numerous images is possibly the best example of its kind. If you are interested in native art this is a must-see. takes around 20-30 mins to appreciate - walking trails can fill the rest of your...More

I went on a community tour the site. It was a memorable event. Our philosophy is that the earth has been given to us in Trust, to leave it a better place. What the first nations people are doing to our natural habitat for centuries...More

We really enjoyed our visit, so much cultural information. There is a lot to see even before you get down to the main petroglyph site. If you are into canadian history or geology then a visit to this site is a must.

We visited this park on a sunny day at the beginning of October, and had a lovely day. The park opening hours are shorter than many parks (I think 10am till 5:30pm), so check this before you go. Also, I believe the park is closed...More

When we entered the Petroglyphs Provincial Park, we had to drive for about 15 minutes before we entered the parking place. We headed to the Visitor Center and we were recommended to see a 15 minute movie. It helped us understand the First Nations. Afterwards,...More

Traveling Hwy 7 between Peterborough and Kingston, we chanced upon the signage for the Petroglyphs Provincial Park and decided on a whim to have a look. I had had the opportunity to see some petroglyphs in Alaska, and wanted to compare. This is really a...More

Came here from vacation property with young family for a day trip. Not much for them to take from it. This is more of a place for adults who are needing to feed their spirit and get a dose of true nature. Maybe some of...More

It is difficult to improve on the reviewers who talk of "A Place for the Soul" and "Spiritual, not Tourist Destination". But I'll try to describe my experience. There are two buildings: The Visitor Center (or" Learning Place") and the building which houses the Petroglyph...More

I would think that it is possible to get a tour guide for your class. As the park is closed for the winter, you will not be able to get your questions answered until they open. Most of the staff are summer students and are... More

We had only 30 minutes, or so, to view the Petroglyphs before closing -- enough time to absorb the sense of this site. Did not spend any time in the Visitor's Center, but it is relatively small, so I would think an hour to... More
