I have returned to the Petroglyphs time and time again. First when, as a kid it was possible to walk on the rock directly. I support the protection of the glyphs with the newer building which protects the sacred space from weather and tourists (like me). The petroglyphs are beautiful to see, and feel important to learn about as you... More

For friends wanting to get out of the busy city of Toronto to do a hike, Petroglyphs Provincial Park seemed a bit far to travel. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the ride to the park. The park is rugged and natural, unlike other parks I've seen. I enjoyed the beautiful and picturesque hike and having lunch by the beautiful McGinnis Lake with... More

This is a wonderful place to hike in all seasons with several trails of different lengths. Do go into the Visitors Centre with the largest known collection of aboriginal rock carvings.( not open in the off season) Really interesting

This is hands down the best first nations co-managed park i've ever been to, seen or heard of. The visitor center absolutely nails the teachings as well the importance of oral traditions and water to the casual public and those in the know alike. The site itself is stunning and infuriating all at once. If you would like to see... More

Summer visits to see the petroglyphs very interesting. Lovely walk from car park : many flowers, ferns, trees. Geology also interesting. Walking the entrance trail in Fall and Winter can be rewarding : several bird species and animals may be seen.

The information about the Petroglyphs and the local flora and fauna was presented beautifully in the Visitor Centre. I do feel the handouts at the actual site could be a bit better, the photocopies were a bit hard to read. We weren't able to hike any of the trails due to poor weather.

The Petroglyphs are a fine example of Native history in Canada. The site is rather moving, a very spiritual place and is its very very old. Dates from 900-1100 A.D. They are now protected by a building that gives you a great view of the glyphs. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. Highly recommended esp to any who thinks... More
