It is an interesting place to visit, With coins and banknotes from all ages. It also has notes, tokens , payment cards and any other ways of payment used through ages. The museum is closed until 2017 for renovation

You might think this will be a boring little museum, but in fact it is a fascinating place. They have coins and paper money from all ages, and all over the world. It is free, and entrance is through the Bank of Canada's beautiful indoor garden.

About 5 months ago the Bank of Canada building in Ottawa closed for a major building renovation. It was announced at the time that the Museum Currency of the Bank of Canada was moving to the Canadian Royal Mint on Sussex Drive in Ottawa. It is being relocated in this new venue permanently for security reasons.

It's a small museum compared to the others but it's free and it's right around where we were. Nothing special though.

Great little FREE museum is closing for 3 years for renovations. I look forward to seeing the new one. There will instead be " travelling exhibitions", and an " enhanced cyber-museum".

We went to the museum on Canada day, at the request of my 9 year old. The curator has done a wonderful job of delivering what might be considered dry material in an extremely interesting fashion. There are many coins from all over the world and even from ship wrecks; and extensive paper monies which were fascinating in the creation... More

This museum very interesting and there was no admission charge. We learned a lot. My kids enjoyed the video on how to spot counterfeit money. I liked learning about the early history of currency and the history of currency in Canada in particular.
