My wife and I checked in Trip Advisor to see what reviews said about this place. They seemed positive so we checked the hours both on line and in a booklet obtained in the hotel lobby. The info indicated that the museum would be open so we walked in the blustery cold weather the 500 metres or so to the... More

Thank for your feedback. It’s unfortunate that the information you had on hand regarding our museum hours was misleading. Our web page http://nature.ca/en/plan-your-visit/hours does indicate that we are closed during the fall and winter months (except for holidays). Our lure brochure, found in all of the tourist brochure racks in downtown Ottawa, also specifically indicates our hours of operation. Perhaps... More

Visited on my own and had a brilliant experience. Time just flew. Great interactive exhibition on the Dinosaurs, for all ages to engage with. Also visited the mammals of Canada. Had a lovely fresh salad in the cafe, which was resonable priced. Only regret was that I couldn't share the day with my grandchildren. We will be back.

Although we felt bad for the turtles in the reptile exhibition having to stay in such a small area the whole family was in complete aw over the minerals and rocks. Probably the best exhibition of rocks we have ever seen. Still can't figure out why they don't have an orca in the whale area.

Thank you for your comments and for your appreciation of our Earth Gallery – with more than 1,000 minerals and rocks on display from our national collection, it is a remarkable exhibition. With respect to the turtles in the Reptiles exhibition, we do take the utmost care to ensure the welfare of all live animals. The exhibition was created by... More

So I brought my 2 adult daughters to see the reptile exhibit (my older one loves reptiles and has one herself) Biggest disappointment. Hardly any reptiles, no one giving information about them, and if you are going to advertise about reptiles, you should have something very unique (most were just snakes) You are better off going to Little Ray's, and... The reptile exhibit was pretty cool. Would have liked a bit more general information about reptiles. Mostly focuses on the species on display but still enjoyed it. Insect exhibit made my skin crawl. Worth visiting the museum. Dinosaur exhibit has a free short movie that's pretty cool too.

What a pleasant surprise (despite having bought the 3-museum passport) to see that its free every Thursday (night?). As a result it was very busy, very loud with all the families and kiddies, but a spectacular museum that's not to miss. The displays were informative for either and both adults and kids, the amount of value in the gemstones and... More

From the very first few of the building itself to the incredible water display, this is a museum not to miss. The collection of rocks and gems was absolutely breathtaking, and that's one of my favourite things! Close to good food and great places to stay – can't recommend it enough!

Great as an adult, even better if you bring kids! They love it, and so do I. It's a beautiful building as well and a highly recommended activity!

We go often when our nieces visit. Great museum for kids and animal lovers! Great way to spend an afternoon! They also have an adult only night once a month.
