At the recommendation of the concierge of our hotel, I ended up running through this area on a rainy and windy morning. If we had stayed any longer and the weather would have been nicer I would have taken the family for further exploring. It is quite close to the falls, yet off the beaten path. Great for a picnic... We have been in the summer and winter. It's really quite beautiful and very peaceful. At Christmas it is just awesome so worth the drive through. We return every year.

The festival of lights in the winter is really lovely here. Drive your car through in the evening on snowy night, so quiet, and you can her the thunder of the falls. Summer time is scenic, and lovely spot for a walk to see the geese and ducks.....wear hiking shoes or boots....lots of goose poop lol

this is located across from the upper falls. You can walk through the many nature trails, or drive slowly around the area. Lots of water, several ducks/geese can be fed, different small wildlife seen when taking the trails. Best of all it is FREE. Come winter, everything is decorated with Xmas images & all lit up. Sponsored by winter festival... More

Nice place for picnics, quiet place for a walk. Spectacular in winter with Festival of Lights! Always busy, but well worth the wait?

I haven't been there in 40 years, as I live in the west. But I grew up in Buffalo, and one of my fondest memories is swimming at Dufferin Islands. We'd sit under the tiny falls and let them pound our backs. It was dreamy.

Even in the daylight, two months after Christmas, we were able to partially appreciate the Winter Festival of Lights, having seen the lights in previous years but noticing new displays and so many trees so densely covered with lights. Apparently thanks to the development of affordable and efficient LED lights, the volunteers have been able to expand upon the spectacle.... More

We really loved driving through and seeing the festival lights. You can give a donation to help the park with sustaining the lights after you are done driving through. They do an excellent job and it is extremely impressive. You can see all the hard work that was put into setting it all up. Definitely worth your time!
