Niagara Falls Grand Helicopter Adventure

334 reviews
First-time visitors to Canada likely have Niagara Falls at the top of their to-do list and the most incredible views of the falls are from above. This helicopter tour offers almost double the time in the air to other tours, so you can enjoy views of not only the American, Bridal Veil, and Canadian Horseshoe Falls, but Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara wine country, and along the Niagara River.

What a cool experience!!! We loved every minute of this experience. First, you get to walk through underground tunnels behind the falls, then you get to see the falls (from behind)... Then you can hear, see and feel the full roar of the falls from the observation deck below. Wow!!! We are definitely doing this again.

Was truly amazing to see the falls up close. The smells, the sounds and the views are beyond amazing! Make sure you grab a poncho bc you will most likely get wet :)

I have done the Cave of the Wind’s on the American side (which was not a cave, but rather a balcony) and it had a lot more to offer in terms of bang for your buck. The Journey Behind the Falls is a very, very, very, small version of this with the addition of being able to see behind the falls from a concrete tunnel carved under. I went during Covid so there was no line and we could enjoy the view. It was a lot less gimmicky though from all else which was a nice change.

Went December 2020 on a Friday, the place was empty and it was really cool to have a tourist destination all to ourselves. I think we only saw one other group in the tunnels behind the falls. The experience was neat, I do think it's a must-see if you're going to Niagra Falls, but I have one major issue with the experience. They take a souvenir photo and offer to sell it to you for $40 (which is outrageous, but whatever, the photo and price don't bother me) it's the fact that they PRINT the photos (x2 large photos) just to show them to you and then they just toss them out if you decline to buy them. That strikes me as incredibly wasteful and left me feeling disappointed in an otherwise great experience. So gross and wasteful, they could easily be shown on a screen, or if you're going to go through the trouble of printing them they should just give them to you as a souvenir.

I first did this as a kid and never forgot it. Went back decades later and it's still as impressive. Being behind the falls is something unique and ending up beside them felt like a spiritual experience. A must do.
