It is a huge place with 16 generating units of 85 MW/unit average. The plant was put in service in 1954.one of the largest capacity hydro plant .

There is a small parking lot on the river side or you can park at the floral clock and walk to the pathway. There are great views of both the Canadian and American power plants. However, there are no tours of the actual power plant.

This attraction is closed to the public, but it interesting to see from a Historical perspective and current perspective regarding Hydro Electricity in Ontario.

I've had the pleasure of touring the power station twice - it's a very impressive facility. If you have a fascination with power generation, the tour provides excellent information as well as a good overview of the history of the plant. Unfortunately, they may no longer be providing tours - it was closed on my last visit, although it's still... More

The first photo listed showing the Niagara River and pen stocks "chutes" in not Sir Adam Beck Power station on the Canadian side but Robert Moses Generating Station on the US side of the Niagara River.

The tour is well done, I enjoyed more to see it from outside , the size and the magnitude is incredible. To see this in front of the American one more impressed. And to know how far are the falls and they are using their water to produce their energy is kind of cool. Always I look the history of... More

We have visited the falls several other times and happened to be staying overnight for convenience. We were looking for something different to do.The tours of the power plant are $10. Our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. There's a 10 minute video. After going down an elevator we had a good view through a window of the generators on... More

We went there after butterfly conservatory. We had accidentally walked in the place with a big school group. We stood in front of the cash register ready to buy our ticket and the guy said we are closed and only opened to this group and asked us to leave so he can lock up after us. The signs outside said... I wouldn't really call this a tour. You get to go into the power plant, but just enough to say you were there. The guide was great and offers a lot of information and stands in front of pictures on a wall. There is a decent video explaining how the power plant works and how the water is brought to... More
