We spent every weekend visiting about 8 locks or less. A few of them are difficult to find but it is part of the adventure to get lost in the country. We live in Toronto and started out at Trent. Big Chute marine railway is the most interesting. Next year I plan to rent a boat and spend a month... More

We went from Sparrow Lake through the locks to Severn Falls and back on a gorgeous Spetember Sunday ride. On a Stingray with a great captain and crew. The views are gorgeous and we stopped at the Riverhouse in Severn Falls which has new docks. The locks take about 20 minutes to go through and ensure you get back for... More

This is the second time we have rented from Egan for a weekend on the water. Once again, Egan did not disappoint. Upon registration we were led to the specific houseboat that was assigned to us made sure to lift the prop out of the water to ensure that there were no knicks or cracks that could cause us any... The check in experience was interesting as they had enough staff to take care of clients yet the docks were so narrow that all guest kept dropping their stuff into the water while trying to load. The very old and difficult to maneuver wheel barrows would wobble and jump as one would push them across a very unstable and unsafe... More

I debated leaving a review but I choose to so others can decide if it's worth it to them to rent from Egan. I will caveat to say the trip was fun based on being on the water and meeting nice people along the way at the various lock stops. The big but - the boats are awfully tired and... More

Here is my comprehensive review of Egan houseboat rentals and cruising on the Trent Severn Waterway. I am trying to include as much detail as possible and pass on what we learned from our 4 day adventure. We did a 4 day trip from Tuesday morning to Friday afternoon with Egan houseboats. We were two families of 4 with young... More

It is always excellent when we travel on the Trent Severn Waterway. We just today boat trip and only went through the Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls locks. The locks were fast and efficient and the staff were so helpful and really friendly. Loved it!

The Trent Waterway was beautiful, I would recommend it to everyone. The boats we rented from Egan we older and not properly maintained but it didn't matter, the beauty of the waterway adventure outweighed everything. The fridge didn't work properly and we lost $80 in food, windows missing screens, beer caps everywhere, extra cabin on top smelled of urine, water... More

The Trent waterway is peaceful and lovely and makes for a great getaway, especially for families. Highly recommend renting a houseboat. First timers can be a little nervous but people in the locks and throughout the waterway are patient and helpful. We have rented houseboats on several occasions and would not make Egan a first choice. Happy days boats are... More

Avoid Egan houseboats! all workers are flippant and unprofessional, they couldnt give us clear answer on our questions. We had no proper instruction how to enter, turn and dock houseboat in the lock area on busy time and had very unpleasant stressful situation..boats are dirty and old, I asked to clean washroom ( the toilet was very dirty) and in...
