With a few exceptions the items, in my opinion, are "just" used, perhaps vintage, not antique. If you are in the market, some of the furniture pieces are a good deal. Know your price range and product if looking at jewellery. Plenty of "kitschy" items.

If you find yourself in Halifax, and want to go home with something more meaningful than the typical tourist junk they peddle along the waterfront, this a great place to explore. It's easily walkable from the ship and full of great finds. The shop keeper was super friendly and helpful and his prices are very fair. Visiting places like this feels more genuine than the tourist shops along the harbor walk.…

Urban Cottage is a unique antique store in downtown Halifax. They have a wide selection of items and a wide range of prices, but their business hours are rather narrow (they close at 5pm and 4pm on Sundays). Also make sure that you're willing to keep an item even it's a present since they won't accept any returns.…
