Peggy’s Cove & Halifax

6 reviews
Why not combine our two most popular tours into one? See the sights of the historic port city of Halifax and then take in the famous breathtaking sights of Peggy's Cove.

Our tour would commence from Pier 21 with its Historic block as the "Ellis Island" of Canada, where more than one million immigrants came through and more than 500,000 left from during WWII.

From there we will visit St. Paul's Church, the oldest Anglican church in Canada. As well, St. Paul's Church was among some of the buildings that withstood the Great Halifax Explosion of 1917. We will drive on to Fort Needham Hill where a memorial carillon was built for the victims of that explosion. Then we'll be on to Canada's most famous lighthouse.

Peggy's Cove is one of the most unique, captivating and exhilarating eye-openers in Nova Scotia. The quaint seaside hamlets of Shad Bay, Big Lake, East Dover and West Dover, to mention but a few, are also breathtaking.

Quinn did my hair this week and I walked out with overtoned, much darker hair than I wanted. Nothing was right. The customer service was the worst I have ever experienced, I walked in for my appointment to fix it two days later and they got my time wrong and then told me they would be charging me despite them ruining my hair. Everyone was extremely passive aggressive and not one woman had basic interpersonal skills. When I left and declined the fix up appointment with extra charges, I was stared at by four of the women as I exited. It was an absolutely disgusting experience and I hope they can all improve their customer service skills and common decency. Just us respectful and such a horrendous experience.

I read the awful reviews about this place but was desperate for a basic haircut and couldn’t get in anywhere else (post COVID). As I was driving on my way to the appointment, they called me and told me Vicki was running behind and they had to cancel my appointment. The girl on the phone didn’t apologize or offer any discount for the inconvenience (Head Shoppe did this for me one time when they had to cancel as the stylist called in sick). I can’t write a review on the services itself but the customer service was bad and I wouldn’t ever support them.

I went in for a cut and colour with a short bob down to my jawline and several pictures of the type of pixie cut style I wanted. Not only did the cut I get look nothing like the style I wanted, but it was several inches shorter. The back was left too long and my bangs were chopped down to nothing, which were my signature look that are now gone. So not only did I get a bad haircut, but now I'm stuck with it for the next two months while it grows back. All that grief for $150. Go to literally any other place, unless you want the ugly tiny mullet I got stuck with

I see some not so good reviews but my experience was positive. I went in for a massage and went back another time for a mani pedi. Lots of product to buy and staff was helpful and knowledgeable. I would give it a try and don't be dissuaded by the other reviews.

I love Life Spa at Dartmouth Crossing, they are my regular spa. However, due to Dartmouth Crossing being fully booked I decided to make an appointment at the downtown location. While I was driving to my appointment, 30 or 40 mins before my appointment was booked, I got a call on my car phone asking if they could reschedule me because the person before me was late. I said no because it's not my fault that somebody else was late and I was already on my way there. The lady on the phone that was fine and that they would keep my appointment for the same time then. I showed up 5 min early for my appointment because I didn't want to be late and end up wasting anymore of their time, but the lady at the front desk told me that my appointment was pushed back 10 to 15 mins because they started the appointment before me a little late. I said that was fine and sat on a small bench (their only waiting area) and started to read the news paper and have my coffee. 50 mins later I asked the person at the front desk what was happening because obviously they had no intention of starting my appointment on time. I read the whole news paper and my coffee went cold and I still was waiting. The service was fine once I finally got It! All I'm saying is, Life Spa, if an appointment is over 10 mins late then you have to cancel them and ask that person to rebook. It's not fair to have everybody else who shows up on time to be waiting in your small and uncomfortable waiting area.
