First time trying the ferry after many visits to Halifax , our main focus on this trip was a quick visit to the boardwalk area and also to have our 2 year old experience the ferry. It was nice to not have to drive around...More

Very cheap, but make sure you have exact change, as they don't give you change and the machines don't always work. Greta to be able to explore other parts of Halifax without breaking the bank. Easy to find and wasn't busy.

Not wanting to drive around from Dartmouth to the waterfront Boardwalk we took the ferry. The ride was approx. 12 minutes you could get a transfer that would allow you the return and save $1.45 on a seniors ticket.

When taking the ferry just over to Dartmouth and back you get a great view of the Halifax skyline and it is a good value for the small price.

For under $4 you can see the beautiful harbours of both Halifax and Dartmouth. It's an affordable way to travel and see the city.

Glad we took this short trip via ferry instead of driving across. Provides a unique view of the harbour with a mix of cruise ships, passenger ferries and barges.

Currently only service dogs are allowed, although a regional city counselor has suggested that all dogs be allowed to ride the ferry.

There is an inexpensive lot right by the ferry terminal. Google Halifax Ferry Dartmouth Parking for directions and costs
