A quick way (about 10 minutes) to go between the two cities. Fewer trips after 7 pm but that is because like most Canadian cities we have visited, Halifax begins to shut down at that time. Dartmouth is basically a suburb of Halifax so not...More

A friend recommended we take the ferry and we are glad we did. It was really cheap and easy to use with friendly staff and the crossing took no time at all.

Carve out 30-45 mins and take the Ferry for great views of the Halifax skyline. It was nice to get on the water and feel the fresh air. Very easy to navigate and worth the time.

To cool off in sea breezes on a hot day, and/or to just admire the majestic and working Halifax Harbour, a return trip on this ferry is ideal.

Currently only service dogs are allowed, although a regional city counselor has suggested that all dogs be allowed to ride the ferry.

There is an inexpensive lot right by the ferry terminal. Google Halifax Ferry Dartmouth Parking for directions and costs
