We saw a very good production of The Last Wife, very enjoyable and not only we were able to get tickets in short notice, but the gentleman at the box office told us that instead of getting the tickets the day before to comeback the day of the performance in the morning and we cold get them at a lower price. That was very nice of him and helpful. The theater is in the middle of everything so it is easy to have dinner and walk there afterwards. Argyle St does not have parking so one must park on the streets nearby, we managed to get parking about four blocks away, easy walk.…

A wonderful evening of live theatre. Between Breathes about the life of The Whale Man; Dr. Jon Lien. Minimalistic set design and play, but vibrant and engaging story telling with music composed by the Newfoundland group Once. Marvellous!

Decided to buy tickets on recommendation from the visitors info center. Sounded like something fun and different to do. We were not disappointed at all! The show was super entertaining from beginning to end. While a fan of American folk, have had very little insight to the folk music of the Maritimes. The special guest, Lennie Gallant, was a real treat. Came away with new songs on my playlist. The show is wrapping up for the summer, but if they bring it back for a third season, go!…

So wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the show and that you got a taste of our maritime music heritage. Lennie is a fabulous musician, singer, songwriter and performer. Thank you so much for recommending! We hope to see you again next summer.

My first clue should have been that it was 1/4 full.We were anxious to see this production but were quickly disappointed. After 50 minutes of the first session we had had enough.Where was Cape Breton,Newfoundland and Nova Scotia music? The Rankins,Rita MacNeil ,Great big C?we were so bored with it I know why there were no people there.By intermission we left I could not sit through anymore. This is the first Neptune production that We were totally disappointed in.I hope your standards have not dropped to this level.Money totally wasted on our part.We are from the east coast have been to many kitchen parties and this was not even a reflection of who we are, only outsiders who did not understand the East Coast would sit through this. This is the first Neptune production we have ever walked out of and would recommend it to nobody.…

Hello Meander53030, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that this show did not meet your expectations. This is our second year running this show and we brought it back this summer due to the positive feedback we received last year - from locals and visitors. Our set list is bellow, and as you see we include many traditional songs, all of the artists you list above are there, and we have also included some newer songs from current East Coast musicians. While this is not a typical Neptune Theatre production, it was a created for our Halifax crowd who may have family/friends visiting from out of town who are looking for a more East Coast night out.
