Relatively hard to visit be somewhat easy to see. This is part of the National Historic site in the harbour which is seldom open to the public. Understanding the role of the island helps to paint the picture of the importance of Halifax in a...More

As our cruise ship was entering Halifax Harbour, what an opportunity to take the most perfect photographs of this wonderfully scenic lighthouse. A beautiful backdrop with the green hills behind it and the rock boulders lining the waterscape. Great! Only my number one also here...More

A beautiful island in the Halifax harbour! While it's not accessible to the public, it can definitely be viewed by boat or even from the harbour.

As far as I know, you can't actually go to George's Island Lighthouse, but you can however view it from the waterfront. It's a cute little light house tucked into the grassy hill with a cute abandoned cottage near by.

This is pretty fantastic! It's cute and distinctive, and it looks so grand just standing out on the island in the middle of the water. I wish we could have gone over to it, but it's a sight to behold from across the water as...More
