We stumbled onto the cemetery leaving the Gardens. Interesting headstones from the 1800’s to modern times. Worth a quick stop if you are walking in this direction.

We added this cemetery to our list of places to visit when wandering around Halifax. We wanted to see the church which was erected in a day. It was a bit of a disappointment as it was all shut up and looked very neglected. Luckily we had read articles on the Church before we visited so knew a little of the story. There was a gardener there at the time of our visit doing his best to keep the area looking nice.

I love the little church that was "built in a day" and the history behind this. This is such an old cemetery the history is at every step. I made a connection with the cemetery when I was married and walked home on my wedding night from a friend's home close to me and passed by the gate. I noticed the date was 31 Aug 1843... exactly 150 years to the day of my wedding. I have lots of pictures of the little church but one of my favourites is when light is passing through the windows just at dusk. It is so beautiful!

Being a rather big lover of cemetery and tombstones, I could not pass this one which is full of history and magnificent stones. I could have spent hours in there.
