I've given this a few tries over the years. When I was 14 years old, I thought it was great. The couple of times I've seen it as an adult, I was bored. One marching band after another it felt like. That being said, it is amazingly popular with one sold out show after another so I'm obviously in the minority. Kids/teens are most likely to enjoy, and anyone with a military background.

I admit I’m spoiled by previous years which have been incredible . It may not be fair to judge this years show to the other shows.

I have to confess that I did not even know what a Tatoo was but agreed to go to the show because my husband really wanted to go. I was in for a surprise and a treat because it was one of the most amazing productions we have ever attend. There was continuous entertainment and the military bands were absolutely amazing. The pageantry was beautiful and awe inspiring. We spoke to people around us who make dertainthey attend every year and they are never disappointed. We enjoyed the event so much that we are already planning a return to Halifax next year so we can attend the Royal Noval Scotia International event again! If there is a possibility of going to Halifax next year, plan your time when the Tattoo will be going on.

I was surprised to read some negatives by other evaluators. The "Tattoo" is an extravaganza with continuous music and unique acts, featuring the Canadian military and military units from other countries. It features hundreds of bag pipes and drum corps with incredible precision marching. It is not broadway; it is everything unique to the spirit that is Canada and the Maritimes. It runs for a week in Halifax in early July.
