Peggy’s Cove & Halifax

6 reviews
Why not combine our two most popular tours into one? See the sights of the historic port city of Halifax and then take in the famous breathtaking sights of Peggy's Cove.

Our tour would commence from Pier 21 with its Historic block as the "Ellis Island" of Canada, where more than one million immigrants came through and more than 500,000 left from during WWII.

From there we will visit St. Paul's Church, the oldest Anglican church in Canada. As well, St. Paul's Church was among some of the buildings that withstood the Great Halifax Explosion of 1917. We will drive on to Fort Needham Hill where a memorial carillon was built for the victims of that explosion. Then we'll be on to Canada's most famous lighthouse.

Peggy's Cove is one of the most unique, captivating and exhilarating eye-openers in Nova Scotia. The quaint seaside hamlets of Shad Bay, Big Lake, East Dover and West Dover, to mention but a few, are also breathtaking.

I was assaulted by the manager after I told him I was going to call the better business bureau because I caught the coat check girls stealing money. I’m completely speechless, and cannot believe someone could react in such a way. But thieves hate being caught, so my guess is he’s in on it too. Cannot post pictures of my injures currently for legal reasons.

Compared to the bars my group of friends are use to coming from a small town, this bar is better then anything in our hometown. However, that being said we went on a cold new years eve and there was no line when we got there and we were made to wait in line. Once we got in it took forever to get drinks, depsite the fact that it's multiple bars under one roof. At the end of the night we left the club and one of my friends forgot her jacket and the bouncers wouldn't let her back in to get her coat. It was something like -20 degrees celsius, if not colder. She had all of her ID's in one of the pockets. The bouncers told her to come back another day and get it. They just watched her walk out and she literally turned right around instantly realizing she forgot her coat and she had a bracelet that allowed her entry the first time. I think that was a bit uncalled for. They could have escorted her to her coat, got her ticket with the # of her jacket on it and then walked her back to the door instead of making her go in the freezing cold, walking back to her hotel and going without her ID's.

You'll pay a lot for cover ($10), but get 3 bars essentially. I'm here to talk about specifically The Dome, however. I'll start with the fact that it is in a good proximity to most of the other bars downtown. Also, you can get some sweet eats afterwards at one of the local pizza shops. Music is meh. Friday night seems to be Dome night. Staff are super-meh. Then again, who would be always in a great mood dealing with drunk, annoying customers every night. I'll add that the drinks are average price, what you'd expect. There are open later then other places, too. It's the kind of place you go when you get a little too drunk.

Was my first time there and loved it. Many bars, one as soon as entered beside coat check. Friendly staff, not a pushy crowd and people apologized when bumped into you. Ordered a double Long Island Iced Tea at bar close to where country band performed. Tasted really strong but was amazingly tasty and returned there for a single one later, wanted him to make it. Several dance floors and music choices. The country band was good but dance floor was extremely crowded and couldn't move, bottom level music was good but kinda all sounded same, our fave was upstairs. My kinda dance music. I coulda stayed lot later but others tired out who had children and jobs later in day.I had day off and kids moved on, so I loved later closing time. Enjoyed all the spots where cool air was overhead.Washrooms bit small, few stalls and floor was soaked from drinks. Dj was awesome. I can't wait to return in future.Drinks were reasonably priced. Cover charge was $10.00 but so worth it. Door security gave daughter a stamp, no cover on her b-day, cool surprise. Highly recommend.
