Terrible company, terrible customer service, I call to ask for help and I get hung up on. They don't allow pets which is absolutely ridiculous.

Safe driver on a rough day
Jan 2020
We decided to use the Martime Bus to go to the Halifax Airport instead of taking our own vehicle and parking it for a month. As seniors it cost us much less and our vehicle was safe in our garage at home so we could use our insurance to rent a car. The cost was about $12 per person each way - less than me driving! The drivers were great - I never felt so safe when someone else was driving. Baggage was easily handled by him. On our return trip, the driver had very icy roads to navigate... well done!

Almost missed my flight
Apr 2019
I rode the Maritime Bus airport shuttle to my hotel in Halifax and service was fine. Alas, this was not the case on the return trip to the airport. I was the first person to be picked up by the shuttle driver and he arrived almost 30 minutes late. We then proceed to stop at numerous hotels in traffic clogged Halifax only to find that no passengers were waiting. Driver spent more time looking at his cell phone than at the road when we finally headed out to the airport. Had I not booked a really early shuttle, I would have missed my flight. Maritime Bus - you need a better system to confirm passenger bookings.

GREAT airport to cruise port transfer option for individuals if you can manage your own luggage
Oct 2019
Whether you are going from the airport to cruise port or cruise port to airport this is a decent option for individual travelers or couples. Note: It doesn't take you directly to the cruise port, but it goes to the train station across from the cruise port, which is about 1/2 mile (1km) walk around the Westin hotel to the front of the train station just past the hotel main entrance (the train station is an adjoining building to the Westin hotel)

What a great service. Land at the airport, go to the desk outside baggage claim and reserve seats for the next hourly bus that goes between downtown and the airport (either way). The cost at this date was $22CAD per person for the trip. BUT IT IS NOT A GREAT OPTION FOR EVERYONE.

The only ways this is not a good deal are:
- if you have several people that can share a big cab for a price less than the total per person costs
- if you can’t wait until the next bus runs or are in a hurry (see their website for seasonal hours and conditions)
- if you have mobility issues that prevent you from walking from their drop off points to your destination, although they might be able to tailor some hotel drop offs...not sure what their limits are.
- if you want private transportation, this is a nice, but shared, shuttle

The final destinations for the ride are either the airport or the train station, and there are downtown drop off points in between wherever needed by booked travelers (the interim stops are NOT automatic). Our shuttle had 2 stops at hotels and we ended up at the train station about 40min after leaving the airport. We got our tickets at the desk in the airport when we arrived, and there might be a desk in the train station too (but you should call them to see about that if you want a ride from the train station to the airport).

They run different schedules throughout the year, so make sure you know their operating hours before you decide on this option.

You can make a reservation early, but if you are flying in, then you don’t really know how late your flight might be, how long customs/baggage/immigration/getting off the plane/etc might take, so making a reservation might be risky (they say they might help change times if they have availability but this is up to them at the time of the issue). On the other hand, not reserving could result in not getting a seat if the bus is already full, but you can call them to see those chances for your dates.

No matter what you decide, for us, this was a great option.

Great to get around without the stress of driving
Oct 2019 • Couples
My hubby & I rented a car at Heathrow airport to get to the Cotswolds & after that, decided we would take shuttles/buses whenever possible!
We took the Maritime from the Halifax airport to Lunenburg & then from Lunenburg to Scotia Center downtown (the stop nearest our hotel) & it was easy & smooth. Yes, you must stop a handful of times. When we had a nearly 3 hr stop at the Westin, we went to Pier 21 right behind their office & enjoyed the education at this wonderful museum. The traffic was rough during rush hour so we were about 30-40 min behind going to Lunenburg but we didn’t have time restraints. Brian was the bus operator both times & he was wonderful & professional. Many thanks to him for getting us around safely.

Good and speedy bus service to and from airport
Sep 2019 • Couples
On our first trip to Halifax, we took the maritime bus shuttle to and from the airport. Staff at the counter and drivers on the bus are friendly.

On the return trip, the driver was early to the hotel to pick us up and was waiting for us. There were a few stops on the way but the counter booked us tickets with plenty of time for out flight. It was relaxing trip.

It is cheaper than taxi. I would do it again.

Thoroughly recommend this service!

When arriving at the Halifax airport one of the staff at the information counter explained the various options for getting to the downtown core of Halifax. I purchased a one-way ticket on the Maritime Bus Shuttle and was very pleased with the comfort, speed and convenience. The person who sold me my ticket went out of his way to locate the hotel that was closest to my accommodations. I used the same service from a diffferent location on the return trip and, once again, enjoyed great comfort and convenience, and the location options were terrific. The overall price was attractive and the only thing I would have appreciated was a little more "welcoming" energy from the first driver I encountered. I found his initial approach to those he would be driving to be abrupt and bordered on rude. Not welcoming at all, until we got underway and he started to speak to someone in the front seat. The driver who took me back to the airport was warmer and more friendly. Great value. Great service. Very appreciated.

Handy shuttle to Halifax from this out-of-town airport
Jun 2019 • Business
Finally, a shuttle bus between the airport and downtown Halifax For a long time the choices were taxi, rental car or municipal bus. Airport Express by Maritime Bus now provides seasonal shuttle bus service (between May 1 and October 31) to downtown Halifax hotels. A one-way ticket is $22 and round trip is $40. You book at a booth on the ground floor and wait until the driver appears. For the return trip they schedule your downtown pick-up with sufficient time to make your departing flight. My pick-up at the Four Points Sheraton was a few minutes early “just in case traffic is slow”. The shuttle takes about 30 minutes each way.

Over the course if a week I travelled with Maritime Bus from Quebec City through to Halifax. Their service is reliable, and the buses are always very comfortable and never overcrowded. Definitely a great option if you want to take your time enjoying the scenery as you cross the Maritimes

Booked Tickets In Advance -------- Mistake!
Dec 2018 • Business
I had to travel to Halifax for tests at the Vic. Gen. Hospital, so to be sure I had seats I pre- booked a return fare. I was not sure how long my tests would take so booked my return to Moncton for 4:00 pm. However I was finished early so quickly took a taxi to the bus station at the VIA rail terminal, and told the lady I would like to catch the 12:00 noon bus. She gave a very unpleasant look and said there would be a charge for changing the ticket. There were 2 of us travelling and the charge was $31.33 .....! I am glad there is a bus service, but I certainly do not appreciate being taken advantage of.... I questioned passengers on the bus and they all said, do not purchase tickets in advance.....just buy them the day of travel. This left me with a bad feeling towards this company.... not happy at all.
