This was a very interesting place for sure. It is "hands-on" so you really get to feel what times were like way back then. Lots of rooms to tour through and each one is interesting.

Having grown up in this area it was nice to revisit a child hood class trip destination:) It's a great place to learn about our beginnings... The fort is meticulously thought out; the entry fee is minimal and the staff are eager to share their...More

It is a re-creation/re-building of a French fur trading post from 1605. Quite amazing and they had so much engineering smarts. This is way before the age of Black and Decker and DIY. Incredible. $4.00 admission was such a bargain. Very interesting and educational.
