Built in the middle of the 19th century (and one of the few buildings in the city to survive the 1892 fire) the basilica is simply a "must see". Reminds me of many European cathedrals that I've visited.

The grandeur and magnificence of this cathedral is breath taking ! The golden ceilings, stained glass windows and it's history are only part of its charm. Attending a mass was also an experience! I can only imagine getting married there !

As the building that dominates the skyline, it's worth checking out. Wish there was more information on the inside and it's very dark; made photography a pain.

Only two in the world one in Rome and this is the other. On display at the Presentation Convent next door to the Cathedral. Magnificent sculpture. How on earth was it accomplished, a mystery to me. You'll be the poorer for missing this on a...More

A beautiful building with amazing stained glass windows. I was with a bus tour and we were fortunate enough to hear the organist play, as he was preparing for a wedding. We were given an introduction to the history of the structure by a staff...More

Lovely architecture. The Heritage Loop Walk was a great way to see all the neat buildings of St. John’s.
