More
The Dark Tickle Company makes jams, sauces, teas, vinegars, drinks, and chocolates from unique wild berries. The berries are picked by hand, and are carefully processed without additives for the high-quality, distinctiveness and deliciousness. Some of the berries they use include the bakeapple (cloudberry), partridgeberry (lingonberry), crowberry, squashberry and wild blueberry. As part of the Atlantic ÉCONOMUSÉE Network, visitors can explore the whole production from start to finish.

This souvenir shop and coffee shop is conveniently located midway between L’Anse aux Meadows and St. Anthony. The Dark Tickle has a large selection of tourist souvenirs with reasonable prices. This is the place to buy partridge berry and bakeapple jam as they make it...More

This is a good place to see the berries that grow in the area. They have a little tasting area. The people who work there are very nice. The best thing for me was a visit by a beautiful Newfoundland dog. It was just the...More

Probably the most prominent local product for the province of Newfoundland, the Dark Tickle Company is a nice stop to make. They do a good job of marrying the manufacturing, shop and marketing of the product along with other local products by artisans in the...More

This is only worth a short stop. The information on the berries of Newfoundland was interesting, as was the tasting. The Newfoundland dog on the premises is brought out primarily for a photo op, but even so, it was a fine animal.

While I actually love fried food--once a month--the cafe at Dark Tickle serves as the perfect break from such fare. Surrounded by historical displays of a French expedition to the area, the dining area is as tasteful as the delicious sandwiches and soup. Even better...More

The gift shop, and the treats were hard to choose from. After a presentation on berries, by the owner was enjoyed by everyone. We were introduced to his two Newfoundland dogs who seemed to like all the attention the tour group could give.
