pretty space, loved the grounds and front decor, kinda drove up without knowing what the space was, I figured if it were toronto it would be a normal thing to walk, drive up, knock on their door, compliment them on their estate and ask to tour their gardens....Well was i shocked when i found out it was a "public asset"... Government House is the most beautiful building in the city. They are host to many great festivals throughout the year. In the summer months they offer free tours. A great way to cool off and get a taste of history.

Toured the house and guide very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the history lesson. House very well maintained. Pictures were allowed, which was a nice surprise.

We attended for a tour of Government House. We went early in the morning and there was a very small group on the tour. We had good interaction with the tour guide and lots of opportunity to ask questions. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and able to answer questions that came up very easily. There are a few sets of... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Old Government House. It is well restored with a number of interesting items. The tour was very informative and a good overview of New Brunswick history.

Had a wonderful guided tour. Very informative. Amazing old pieces of furniture and artifacts. The spiral staircase is a thing of beauty. They have a round table that has pie-shaped drawers that locked. The founders met around the table. Would love to have it!! Definitely worth a visit. Very interesting for adults & kids.

Old Government House was "open", but the guide in charge was unwilling (ie. absolutely refused) to give us a tour of the building. It was 10:05am and he had a school group coming at 10:30. -- NO we couldn't join their tour; no, we couldn't tour by ourselves; no he couldn't be bothered giving us a very brief tour or... More

A nicely restored old building now used as the residence of the Lieutenant Governor but also open for public viewing. Also used by many community organisations for meetings and receptions. It also contains many interesting artifacts and art works.

What a great experience it was touring the Old Government House and meeting the Lieutenant Governor His Honour Graydon Nicholas. We started our tour in the lower level and learned of everything from the stones and mortar to the rugs on display on the wall. Tim Richardson was our tour guide and it was as if he had lived during... More

We were fortunate enough to get a private tour of the city led by a local student. She explained the architecture of this building and it was very revealing. We don't often think of how buildings tell stories of the past and give us clues about the folks who had a hand in planning and building them. The story of... More
