However, the head pond is attractive with several parks and picnic areas nearby. Centennial Park is... read more

It's a powerful dam what else can I say, lots of water goes through it, did get some cool pictures of it though, worth seeing, there's not many around, just hope that it's in full power when you do to see it's full effect

However, the head pond is attractive with several parks and picnic areas nearby. Centennial Park is free and if you really are attracted to hydro electric dams, you can get a pretty good view of it from there. Unlike many area attractions, there is actually...More

An authentic non event - your time would be better spent watching grass grow. One of the ugliest dams around.

This dam has been around for many years and is an iconic symbol in Mactaquac. It has a great view from the top of the Saint John river below.

This is just a dam but the surrounding scenery is breathtaking. If you drive in any direction from the dam you will be water views.

Wear closed toe shoes! This isn't well communicated, and we went prior to going to the beach (ie with flip-flops and sandals!) It's a free tour that takes about an hour. Interesting, but probably not a great idea for kids. We had a nice tour,...More

on one side is the man-made lake where there are many options for boating - on the other, the fish hatchery. There seems to be repairs on the road over the dam every summer so expect a 5-minute delay for crossing.

A trip to the dam at sunrise on a beautiful autumn morning is a photographer's delight. The mist over the water was almost magical.
