I didn't find the wolf all that interesting really. It's kinda neat in that it's on the side of a building I guess....

Walking about Thompson gives many views of artists' individual interpretations of basic wolf sculptures, and these guide you to the hill where the Wolf Mural is placed. Strolling in the open spaces and through the easy grade the town covers is a fine way to spend a few hours, and enjoy the northern aspects of upper Manitoba.

It is something to see when u are driving out of town or just in town. Alot of work went into it and that is one of the things people go to see.

Though I doubt Robert Bateman painted it himself, it is said to be his design. Very pretty mural to dress up a pretty bleak looking town.

This is a building sized reproduction of a Robert Bateman print. It is best viewed from #6 highway on your way out of Thompson. Look for it to the left after passing Nelson Road. Also watch for a carving of wolves howling at the moon, in the rock face right in front of the building building.

Very easy to find and looks amazing. It was on my to-do list when I knew I was going to Thompson and was able to accomplish it quickly. If getting out of vehicle to take pictures, do it from the main highway. View is probably better and I was also told by locals that the area behind that building is... More

This is very nice artwork. You can see part of it from quite a distance. When you get up close and personal with this mural, if that's what you want to call it, is VERY beautiful. You almost feel scared when you see it because it looks directly at you. Haha. Great detail in it.

An interesting concept, with Thompson promoting itself as "The Wolf Capital of Canada" It's a great photo op, having a very large photo-realistic copy of a Robert Bateman painting very near to the downtown area. It's best viewed from the highway just north of the hi-rise apartment building that it is painted on. It's hard to miss, and should be... More

This is one big honking mural, but it's best viewed from a distance. The city of Thompson has provided an excellent lookout downhill from the mural. You can view it from up close, but you have to hike uphill and stand in front of some dumpsters while you crane your neck. It's quite beautiful, and it's very hard to miss!

This is part of the Spirit Way project. The Wolf Sketch is on a 10-story building and measures 86' x 62'. Beautifully done and a real eye catcher.
