As part of the Hudson Bay helicopter ride, we started out with a brief fly over the fort. You could see the multiple cannons and it seemed to be very well restored. We saw our first polar bear of the day on the kelp bed...More

Touring through the early history of European outposts in the North American continent shows an environment the adventurers adapted to while original inhabitants adapted to their presence. Learning to deal with the conditions of extreme cold show many aspects of the structures, and fireplaces abound....More

Usually not big on things like this, but the Parks woman giving the tour was really into history & made it interesting. Additional staff rode around on ATVs watching for bears, which from my boat tours I think were probably on the shore just over the rise...worth...More

Interesting history (Pathetic really: took 40 years to build. Yes 40. Took 4 hours to surrender and burn.). Neat guns. Great location for spotting polar bears. Beautiful scenery. Nice Parks Canada staff. Good tours. Must see.

Prince of Fort Whales and Cape Merry tour was great. Mike (who looks like the lead for ZZ Top) was informative and had a great sense of humor. He's been working for Parks Canada for almost 30 years and shared some interesting tid bits. Kevin...More

Great historic site, you will learn lots. I did not realize that such major buildings were that old in Churchill. The guides, and bear guards were informative.

The whole event was underwhelming. Not a ton to see or experience and would have felt better if the tour was funded by the government so the funds would have been used for the rehab of the fort rather than by the tour companies and...More

We took two different tours, one the fort and estuary and the other the sloth trail. This is the one you go over in zodiac and walk the area and come out the outside of the Fort. I went first week of July, we saw a lot of... More
