Discover Whistler's original summer activity the legendary River of Golden Dreams and scenic Alta Lake – The flat water river is more than just a float it’s a Exploring Adventure. Beaver, Eagles, Osprey, Heron’s and even Black Bears are regular sights will have you eagerly wondering what’s around the next bend in the river including spectacular views of mountain peaks in a natural environment. Our River trips have limited availability and often sell out, please pre book to assure your spot. Unlike an amusement park ride River of Golden Dreams trips allow you to be an active participant. One of the reasons people keep coming back to paddle the river is it is different every time they come. In the spring the water levels can be high and moving though always flat and no rapids. By mid-summer water levels are gentle. By late summer the beaver start rebuilding their dams creating pools to paddle in. Water levels are low and steering the boat properly avoids obstacles. Guides are recommended though experienced river paddlers go unguided. It’s most certainly not what you expected. Our staff present river orientations to make this a fun, eco-friendly, educational exploring outing. Located at Lakeside Park minutes from Whistler Village. Free Transportation is available for River of Golden Dreams Tours from all Whistler Village hotels and vacation/ holiday accommodations.

Two hours of rowing on a canoe is quite a while, but the river was amiable. This time of the year it was neither too full of water nor very shallow. Once you learn to keep it going ahead, and controling the direction it goes,...More

Went on a group tour doing the kayaking and mountain biking tours. We first did kayaking. At first they taught us the paddling basics needed to do the tour. We had a little practice in the water and took us down the lake. The views...More

Kayaking along the river is great - easy if you know the basics of a kayak. You can also take a canoe, which is a bit faster. We went on a windy day, so canoeing down the lake was a challenge with choppy waves. Once...More

I have never been on a kayak before but now I want to buy one. This was great relaxing fun with the whole family. Go at your own pace and enjoy the water/mountains and each other. Great summer activity.

We rented SUPS and had a fantastic experience just paddling around the lake. The staff are all super friendly and helpful, and the gear terrific. We stayed for a swim and a picnic in the lovely park. A great time!

Family of 4 (mom, dad & 2 teens) rented single kayaks for a paddle down the River of Golden Dreams. Friendly staff and decent equipment but the real 5-star was the paddle across Alta Lake then down the meandering River of Golden Dreams. Stunning scenery...More

We had a great private kayaking tour with Yanic. The scenery and views of the mountains are beautiful. We went at 10:30 on a Thursday and there was hardly anyone on the river. I was nervous and ended up flipping my kayak. Yanic was there...More

We did the self guided tour. They cautioned us about going alone and paddling on moving water. It was a little tricky in the faster water but we managed to get through fine. My husband is a stronger paddler so he was in the back...More
