This is a great museum. Start on the 2nd level which includes some of the finest Native American art I've seen anywhere. You will see the flourishing--and demise--of a truly great culture. There's no other place in BC which you need visit to see great totem poles. But there's much, much more (for example, the finest Native American mask collection... More

The organization inside of the Museum was very clever. It did feel like you were part of each of the settings. I thought that it was a bit expensive but there was so much great information. It took us about 2 hours to go through but we did not read every single piece of information that was provided.

My wife and I debated whether on not to visit the Royal BC Museum during our visit to Victoria. It seemed like something we should do, but did we really want to spend a nice, sunny afternoon in a Museum? Eventually, we decided to do it and don't regret it. The displays are very impressive, informative, and tastefully exhibited. I... More

Beautiful exhibits! Very creative regarding Victoria history. Plan for about an hour and a half! Take your time to see all that is there.

A bit pricey, but it was worthwhile. Lots to see! Definitely take in a show at the Imax while there. The shows run every hour on the hour and some are 3D.

So much to see. Really detailed local history. I loved it. Got myself a photo with the Mastodon. Next time I won't be in such a hurry.

The entrance fee is quite steep but the experience is great. We were here during the Mammouth exhibit. Very well done. Not to mention the permanent collection.... The First Nation exhibit is amazing, beautiful and very humbling. The pioneer exhibit is very interactive and fun... Allow a minimum of two hours very least. Our family, kids and grown ups loved... Very interesting and informative displays. Do the First Nations exhibit on the top floor and work down. Allow at least 2hrs - more if you wish to see what the IMAX is showing. Better presented than other museums I have visited.

The Royal BC Museum offers exhibits on British Columbia history, First Nation history, British Columbia wildlife, and at the time of this writing, the Wooly Mammoths that once lived in British Columbia. The museum itself has an IMAX theater as well as seasonal food truck events around back. We initially went in around 10am while waiting for our hotel room... More

I've seen a lot of museums and, quite frankly, they get old after awhile. Not this one! There is so much to see here - from the permanent exhibits showing things like industry history (discovery, logging, mining) and wildlife in BC to the current traveling exhibit on mammoths. Not only is there a lot to see, there's a lot to... More
