I walk dogs and this is a great place for on leash walks around the grounds. There is a lot of places that are open to the public and not blocked off. I have also been inside for a Government House dinner and that is spectacular. If you work for the government 25 years or more don't miss the opportunity... More

The garden, cared for by a large group of volunteers (bias declared: I am one of them) is lovely in every season. Even when the oak trees are bare of leaves, there is hellebores, early azalea, and snow drops. In spring there are new flowers out every week, often every day. And there is always the glorious view over tree... More

We typically stay at Abbeymoore when in Victoria and really enjoy the short walk to Government House. The gardens are gorgeous and ever changing. The walks below the "House" have lovely views.

We visited there to see the Old English Car Show on the beautiful grounds surrounding the historic Government House. We walked the gardens and appreciated the care and maintenance of the grounds. The early fall sunny weather was also in sync.

We visited here in Sept 2016, just a week before the Royal family would be coming to stay. Since Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be spending most of their time here we were intrigued. No inside tours were available for security reasons. We were only able to tour the grounds which were busily being groomed by the many volunteers... More

Do check out when they offer free tours and make a plan to get there for the first tour of the day. You will be impressed with the information shared by the talented guides.
