Nice historic house which gives you a bit of flavour for local history situated in Victoria. A good visit but maybe a bit boring for kids.

This property was owned by an Anglo-Irish family that provided some senior civil servants to 19th century British Columbia. The day to day domestic life in this household is vividly displayed by the setting, the furnishings and artifacts and the presentations by tour guides in period costume. During the 19th century, this household and its gardens and boat landing were... More

We had a perfect afternoon for our Royal Tea in honour of Kate and William's visit. We had champagne and wonderful sandwiches and sweets. We were able to sit outside as the weather was cooperative.

After living in Victoria for 18 years, I finally decided to pay a visit to Point Ellice House! Why did I wait so long??? I was surprised, given the neighbourhood it's located in, at just how beautiful the property is. Our tour guide was very well informed - and told us so many stories of the people who had lived... Maybe I'm being harsh as we only walked their ground. It was closed for a private function. If it were my event, I would have been very upset. Their outdoor chairs were set up on uncut grass loaded with leaves. The flowers showed me nothing. Very disappointing. I'm so thankful we did not have tea here

Steeped in tradition, a visit to Victoria is not complete without afternoon tea. We decided on a visit to Point Ellis House to enjoy high tea in their beautiful garden. The Grand Tea was an assortment of savoury sandwiches, scones and sweets. My daughters each got Kitty’s Cream Tea which includes a sweet and savoury scone with berry compote and... More

My teenage daughters and myself all enjoyed the grand tea and tour here! It was a very warm day and seating seemed a bit unorganized. We reconfigured our seating so that we were in the shade which made it much more enjoyable. I noticed several other parties having to do the same. I'm sure it's not usually a problem for... More

There are several sizes of tea available. We chose the large one thinking it would be good as lunch. However, there were only a few savory sandwiches and the rest were sweets, so really not suitable for a lunch.

Point Ellice House is a little out of the way for most tourists but if you take the Habour Ferry you can be dropped right off at the base of the gardens just like a visitor the the home of the gold commissioner would have been during the gold rush. Tea at the house is more affordable than at some... More

We went for the grand tea today and had a lovely tea service. We ate outside, under a tent, since it was so sunny. There is also indoor seating. We toured the gardens on our own before and then had a guided tour of the house afterwards. There were 6 of us for tea, including a 10 yr old and... More
