Visiting this house gives one an intimate understanding of one of the world's most important and unusual women artists. Follow it up by finding some of her work at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria .

A fascinating look back in history to Emily Carr's childhood home. This house is being lovingly restored to it's storied past. Beautiful garden and friendly knowledgeable staff. A treasure tucked away in James Bay. A must see.

This is a hidden gem. The woman who runs it is knowledgable and helpful. It's a great place to slow down a little. It is worth a stop.

In addition to what other people have already said, I'm really wondering what was going on with all the signed paintings (signed Emily Carr) that were up for sale and painted by someone else (the local neighbour?) This is really confusing for visitors!More

We spent about An hour at the house and garden. We watched a fascinating film by the National Film Board of Canada. They have a tea and refreshment area but we did not have time to enjoy it as we had another engagement.
