Oh wait... that's New Hampshire. South Granville is fun too. Hang out here for a couple of hours walking through the shops, buy a chocolate from Purdy's, check out the very expensive cheeses at Meinhardt's, see a play at The Stanley, go to the only Williams Sonoma in Vancouver. Walk up the street a couple of blocks and see the... More

Don't miss out on any part of granville. It is a very pretty place with lots to do. The weather was good to us whilst we were in Vancouver. It only rained on the day we left

This is a wonderful way to spend an hour or two. Lots of good art, antiques, and fashion stores. Along with places to heat. Being an uphill walk (depending on your direction), it is a good work out. As for parking, look on the side streets, usually there are 2-3 hour spots for free. Otherwise there is paid parking near... More

I grew up and lived in Kits for over 20 years. Walking the south Granville area was atreat on a rainy weekend. There seemed to be stalwart resstaurants in the area -Normandie and Szazz's are long gone.

But if you are looking for the big name American furniture stores, this is where you will find them. Lots of art galleries from local to Picasso limited editions. Restaurants and cafés, banks and book stores, cooking stuff stores, hair salons. Easy access by bus. Paid parking. Very walkable rain or shine. Enjoy!

South Granville contains many retail stores and restaurants, but locally it's known primarily for the various art and antique stores. Sure, the proprietors may come across as pretentious and snobby, and treat you like dirt if you're not wearing the right kind of shoes/clothing, but that's part of what makes this a distinctive neighbourhood. So throw on some flip flops... More

We spent a morning wandering around South Granville and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are lots of great independent stores as well as a large Chapters Store and some other chains like Anthropologie and the US kitchen store Williams Sonoma. Easy to get to from Downtown - straight down Granville Street on the number 10. You'll need change for the bus...... More

A first class selection of stores including designer clothing and shoes, furniture and décor, glasses and books. Love walking along this 6 or 7 blocks, even just for window shopping.

Neighbourhood Profile
South Granville
The neighbourhood closest to the airport, a generous mix of locals and tourists populate the area. The blend has made it a go-to spot to find an eclectic collection of entertainment, from theatres and cinemas, to antique stores and last-minute kitsch souvenir shops. It gives off a transient vibe, and is one of the more higgledy-piggledy areas in terms of what you'll find, making it a fun area to explore and map out, all while taking in the hectic atmosphere of people coming and going, while others look for the best ways to spend their last few hours in the city.
