Regarding the Lost Lagoon area itself: This is one of my regular spots as a local where there is so much going on here with all the variety of urban wildlife. You are usually likely to see the raccoons, sometimes a mother one with babies as well as herons as regulars themselves. The Nature House is a small building right... More

You would never know that this place existed as its hidden under the lost lagoon public lookout platform at the end of Alberni street. How do I know? I live in that tall white tower just up the street. You access the nature house by heading down the side stairs of the platform to the waters edge. There you will... More

If you want to see Beavers up close, head to the end of this lake nearest Second Beach. Their lodge is the "island" just near the stone bridge - they often swim around the shore near the island and also swim up the stream towards the Second Beach. Head out early in the morning - or (more conveniently) head there... More

The lagoon had many lovely swans and other birds when we passed by and stopped to admire the beauty of nature in the city. It is easy to find, close by the entrance to Stanley Park. Very relaxing spot!

If you have kids or are a complete city slicker that has never been to a Natural History Museum then you should check it out. Otherwise you can skip it. It has an area for some kids activities. A telescope to look at things on Lost Lagoon and some displays of and specimens of the flora and fauna at the... More

Lost Lagoon is just to the west of Stanley park, and is just an absolute idyll of a place, like Stanley Park, many quiet secluded places just to enjoy tranquillity in this hustle bustle city, Vancouverites should be proud to have such a place so close to the city, most other big cities in the world are not so privileged.... Here in summertime some classes are held to help you know what lurks in your back yard or when you come to Stanley Park and areas around the park itself. Learn about the swans and raccoons and the other little critters that live here . Please do not feed the animals .

We visited Lost Lagoon as the start of a bicycle tour of Stanley park. It is great to see the swans and the serenity of the lake. A small wonder this area could be preserved in a city so keen to develop.

Anyone who drives from downtown to Stanley Park, or the North Shore, or comes back from the North shore passes by Lost Lagoon, located at the end of Georgia Street, to the entrance/exit to Stanley Park. The Lagoon is home to many swans, Canada Geese, as they migrate north and south, along with other bird species. It is a very... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Stanley Park
Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.
