This beautiful coastal drive runs along the Sunshine Coast from Vancouver to Lund, offering lovely views of islands and straits and passing through coastal towns. This part of Vancouver is the sunniest and driest, and the highway takes you past ten parks popular for fishing, canoeoing, diving, hiking and other outdoor activities.

This is the mostly forested main road on the Sunshine Coast that connects from town to town. It's an excellent, smooth and windy road compared to the pothole ridden roads in Vancouver. I would recommend you to follow the speed limit especially with some very...More

This is a nice drive going along the Sunshine Coast. The road (the only road) that connects all of the communities along this coast has many stops along the way to grab a coffee, have lunch, and enjoy the scenery. Like many have written, you...More

This is a trip to take if you have about two or three days to enjoy it. Long winding roads into Arbutus and Rock cliffs. Ocean views unparalled.

From travel guides, I was led to believe that paying the excessive BC Ferries fee would lead to an awesome coastal drive. However, this highway has been moved inland and it was mostly a forest drive. In typical rural BC highway fashion, signage was limited,...More

I traversed the Sunshine Highway BC 101, during my holiday week in October. I based in Sechelt, and chose daily routes to explore, so that I covered the entire hwy 101 route over that week. The route from Sechelt to Lund includes yet another ferry,...More

This is a beautiful drive on a sunny day. There are lots of winding road sections but they are all very safe as long as you stick to posted limits. Enjoy the ferries, especially if you go up to Powell River as there are 2...More

The scenery and driving fun is spectacular. Please be careful and drive safe but this is a motorcycle, sports car (top down) dream...finish it off with a ride up to Whistler for lunch at the top of the lift.

Traffic is terrible both coming and going. We couldn't even look at the scenery or find a way to stop for the washroom.

I was apprehensive about driving on the RHS of the road, but Canadian drivers seem courteous and drive carefully making acclimatization easier than I had expected. Road quality and signage was excellent

Take the 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver - on a nice day, you see mountains and sometimes, dolphins alongside the ship. Land in Langdale and don't drive up the hill with all the traffic - turn left out of the...More

Hi, I was wondering what you are driving. I am interested in getting a sports car but getting on and off ferries may present a problem due to the lower chassis of sports cars. Getting onto the large ferries should pose no problem but onto the smaller short distance ferries could be a problem for me with the type of car I am thinking of getting. That is why I asked what you are driving and if it is a low sports car, did you have any problems? I am wanting to get a Cayman GTS.

I drive onto/off the Earls Cove ferry in a Mini Cooper and as passenger in a Porche 911. No problems.
