We have visited the gallery a number of times over the past 20 years and have followed it from location to location because of the work available and the advice given. We would not hesitate to recommend this gallery and ts fine, knowledgable staff to people who have an interest in the variety of indigenous work they carry. Thank you... More

After 30 years in GasTown, Spirit Wrestler is moving but, fortunately for all of us, relocating to W. 3rd near Granville Island. Every time I visit the gallery I see beautiful works of art from some of the world's best aboriginal artists. The staff are welcoming, professional and very knowledgeable. Were I a wealthy person, I would have no problem... More

I love this gallery. Small, each piece seems to be carefully chosen to complement its neighbour. A selection which is representative of individual interpretations of West Coast Art steeped in hundreds of years of history. Very much worth a visit.

I have been into the gallery several times and made purchases on a few occasions. The team is fantastic, they are very knowledgeable and are keen to help others learn more about the Inuit, First Nations and Maori works. When my children were young, they were very welcoming and willing to answer questions and explain the pieces. I have always... More

Maybe my favourite gallery in Canada. Definitely my favourite in Vancouver. Lovely pieces to look at and a trusted gallery from which to purchase.

This is one of the galleries I visit every time I'm in Vancouver. The staff is knowledgeable and they carry a good representation of north west coast art. I hadn't intended on adding to my collection on this visit but....it happened anyway. Well worth a visit.

We first stumbled on this gallery several years ago. We walked in, with no intention of buying anything, and walked out with a Susan Point print. The collection is absolutely first-rate, the gallery owners/crew extremely knowledgable yet approachable. Fantastic art, fair prices, heads and shoulders above most galleries. We've been back several times (we live in the Bay Area) and... More

we always visit Spirit Wrestler Gallery when we visit Vancouver and can honestly say that it is our favourite gallery. All the staff are pleasant and helpful and there is no sales pressure to buy, just to admire all the creative and original art works, although we do always buy something!!! Gary was particularly helpful in arranging for something to... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
