This small (less than 3/4 of an acre) "green" space has nothing to warrant a special visit.unless you're in the area and want to take a rest on a bench or a photo of the Holy Rosary Cathedral across the street. The area consists mostly of concrete and a big aqua-colored pool that looks more like a swimming pool rather... More

Only past here to take photos of the Cathedral otherwise I wouldn't have noticed it or gone out of my way to visit. A place to sit and eat lunch and currently you can play a piano.

The area is very interesting but this square is really ugly. It seems it has been created by chance and not according the area where it is located.

I was in Prague not too long ago and came across this park full of Junkies, homeless etc, but yet there it was on TripAdvisor awaiting my review, what can you say about such a place? You can't applaud it, it would be rude to the locals to slate it, so what do you say? Now I come to Vancouver,... More

it is not clear what the designers had in mind for Cathedral Square, but it is certainly was not beauty. The modern touch with a lot of cement and large pipes connecting overhead is an eyesore that is neither interesting nor inviting -- both elements of a Vancouver Park. More difficult is its name of "Cathedral," which should have links... More

This is one of the ugliest and poorly designed urban squares I've ever seen. Completely unnatractive and full of vagrants. Avoid.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
