Not huge, but they have special species!

Not the biggest or cheapest aquarium I've ever been to, but the large aquatic mammals make for a special visit. The jellyfish are awesome, and you can play with the sealions!

It is more like a nice part of the Stanley Park than a "must see" in Vancouver, quite average aquarium for a big city and not a cheap one. Good spot to hide during rain.

It is worth visiting as an aquarium outing. The belugas appeared to be swimming in the same circular pattern over and over again and it made me a bit sad for them. The sea creature tanks are all nicely lit and clean. Crowds: even in off peak hours, there are still a ton of people, just be ready for that... More

This place is wonderful and never dissapoints. Larger and diverse, you could easily get lost in here. It is very expensive but well worth it just to experience the diversity in ecocultures. Great staff who are friendly and knowledgeable. Should not be missed for this who are frustrated Marine Biologists!

Great family experience... For me going with my friend, it was a bit boring, would of been much more fun going with children to see them enjoy seeing the animals! It's not that big, you can go thru it fairly quickly. Gift shop is pretty pricey!

We enjoyed our afternoon at the aquarium and found it to be a great way to spend a rainy afternoon! Its not often that I do these kind of things without kids but it's something that all ages can do! We especially loved the otters and their funny personalities, playing with the balls. The sea lions also had character! Indoors,... More

My friend was visiting the Vancouver area on vacation. We spent some time catching up each other, and we wanted to do as much as possible while she was here. One of the things she said I absolutely had to see was the Vancouver Aquarium, so we went there the second day and it was one of our favorite parts... More

We visited the aquarium during our trip from Australia and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Vancouver. There are plenty of attractions for kids and adults, plus the location in the middle of Stanley Park is convenient. The otters and beluga were the highlight for us but there is definitely something here for everyone. We thought ticket prices... More

The Vancouver Aquarium isn't very big (compared to Sea World) but there are quite a few cool animals there. The animals look well cared for and the trainers were very knowledgeable. My favorite is the Beluga whale. What a rare experience seeing a Beluga whale, they are quite intellegant and very cute. My kids liked the whole place but especially... More

Great day trip with lots to see. The exhibits are mostly inside and underground but there are some outside areas too with cover from the rain. It can get pretty busy so go earlier in the day (before lunch) and make use of the self ticketing machine near the front entrance to avoid the line

Staying in Stanley Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Stanley Park
Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.
