Stopped by from the Hop on Hop off bus, after coming from Granville Island. Was apprehensive as we read about the negative feedbacks, but it was not as bad as mentioned. You should have walk and count the number of homeless people on Granville Street...More

This sad part of glorious Vancouver reminden me old Bowery, home for the hopeless, homeless and the mentally disturbed. We were expecting a "usual" chinatown, typical of many great metropolis of the world. Instead we found miserable dwellings, closed-down shops and lots of homeless people....More

Walked through Chinatown today after visiting Granville Island. There may be many worthwhile sites inside the buildings, but we were depressed by the amount of hurting people (none Chinese) we saw hanging around sidewalks and alleys. I would skip this part of town

Give this a miss. If you want to eat good Chinese food, head over to Richmond. There is literally nothing here - no cabs, no normal people on the streets but lots of drunks and druggos. There are only a handful of shops selling cheap...More

We were there in the evening and didn't find it very interesting. If you want to see Chinatown go to NYC or Melbourne, Australia. They have nice stores, food, shopping. Much better and safer feeling. August 2014.

During our first evening in Vancouver, we decided to visit Gastown and move onto Chinatown in hope of a Chinese meal. OMG we were in for a bit of a shock, we were confronted with around a 50 metre stretch of sidewalk completely overrun with...More

A typical Chinatown with a beautiful gate. The area is filled with life and people. Many restaurants to try and all very traditional, but more contemporary places are popping up!
