Very nice beach in the heart of Stanley Park. Reaching it requires you to go down some stairs. At the bottom, there is the bike path that follows along the SeaWall. Be careful! Even though bikes are supposed to walk your bike at the bottom of the stairs, not everyone follows this rule and it can be slightly dangerous. The... More

I don't know if I would feel comfortable swimming here, with all the tankers coming in and out of the inlet, but it's definitely a gorgeous place to hang out and have a picnic while enjoying the picturesque view.

After Second Beach you walk around on the sea wall to Third Beach! If you are biking from the English Bay side, you need to use the bike path inland since the bike path is one way from Second Beach. It is a sandy stretch of beach littered with large logs that you can sit on or near or lean... More

I always like going to Third Beach! The pool has been modernized since I was a kid. Great snack bar. Just to take a walk in the sand on a warm summer day is all I ask!

We decided to hit this beach up because we heard it was nice and quiet, and it was! Beautiful atmosphere and so peaceful. We got brave and tried to climb some rocks out into the water and slipped quite a bit. I've got the scrapes and bruises to show for it. But overall completely worth it.

A fabulous beach and surroundings that are somewhat quieter than the other beaches in Stanley Park because it is on the far west side. Spectacular views at any time of day. Don't miss this feast for the eyes and soul. Excellent for singles, couples or families. Accessible by car, a lovely walk or by bicycle on the gorgeous seawall ride.

Its usually crowded, pretty dirty by Vancouver standards, there are plenty of other beaches in the city that are far superior

Located at the Northern end of Stanley Park, this beach has a terrific view of this coast from West Vancouver and, behind, the Coast Mountains, across the water to Downtown's West End, The Burrard Bridge to the Kitsilano shores, the Planetarium and the Point Grey Peninsula at the head of which seats UBC. It is very quiet except when the... More

The beach is spacious and clean. Great place to swim safely. No rocks hurting your feet when you approach the water and take a dip!!

Decent beach. Food is available in a concession stand right up above the beach for reasonable prices. Lifeguards were on duty when we visited. The view is great, there was a bit of seaweed, but not too much. Swimming was nice in the August sun.

Staying in Stanley Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Stanley Park
Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.
