During WWII and The Cold War, Radar Hill was a part of the line of radar installations across the U.S. And Canada, watching for threats of long-range bombers.

Radar Hill has a few rare lookout points over Pacific Rim's vast temperate rainforest. A gorgeous place to take in the view, the sweet breeze rolling in from the forest, all while cuddled up gazing over the horizon.

The road was evidently rebuilt in ~2016 and very nice to get up to the parking area. From there, it's a short walk on the trail to the viewing points but the views themselves were surprisingly unremarkable. We were in Tofino for 4 nights and went on the single clear day and could see what there was to see from... More

You can see the views looking toward Tofino here and toward Ucluelet. A great spot to take photos and you are able to drive to the top so it is not as challenging to access as some mountain views.

Don't bother. Even if you don't take the oil pan off your car, if there ever WAS a view, the trees have grown up and obliterated it.

We've driven past Radar Hill on our previous trips to Tofino and we decided that this time we should stop! It's a comfortable walk about, it's not strenuous at all, the car does most of the work up the hill. It has great lookouts, great history. If you have a couple minutes to spare while you are in Tofino, you... More

If you like history this is a great place to visit. There is a memorial to Korea, very interesting facts.

Was a bit disappointed by the view which turned out to be not that great.I had been told it was a wonderful panorama of both sides but it turned out to be not so much.

we made the drive up to radar hill. Aside from a short paved trail and a few posted signs there was really nothing to see here. Save yourself the time for the many other amazing sights in the area.

Get a great overview of the area, celebrate some Canadian history and if you are really adventurous, hike to the downed aircraft 15 power poles south of the road into Radar Hill. It's a hike, so be prepared. Read about the Canso plane

... then you might as well visit, since it's only a 5 minute detour off the coast road and then a 100 meter hike from the parking lot to the top. The views are nice, but you won't want to stay for more than 5 minutes. A personal note: 40+ years ago I was in a playwriting class at UVic... More
