Delightful presentation of an extremely talented aboriginal artist in a beautiful building appropriate for housing his beautiful art with its spiritual connection with the land. Had we had more space in our luggage, we would have come home with much more art than we did.

This gallery is build in the style of coast Salish Peoples with whole trees used in supporting the roof. It is a classic example of native building style and is itself a piece of art. The collection inside, of Roy Henry Vickers art is well worth the time to view and to read about the pieces. The gift store was... More

The gallery itself is a beautiful piece of architecture based on west coast longhouse style. The art of Roy Henry Vickers is amazing. His use of colors is brilliant. It's worth the visit even if you are not a big art fan.

Thank you for your review, it is appreciated. I remember the day before the opening of this gallery back in '86, my Mother and I sat and listened to, the Hallelujah chorus from Handels Messiah on the stereo system, we had tears of joy, that spirit has never left the gallery. More

We went specifically for the artist's talk as he happened to be there the week we were visiting. Very interesting man and a wonderful public speaker - really enjoyed the songs and storytelling. Definitely go if you have the chance to see him - it gets very crowded quickly, so arrive early to get a seat as they are limited.... More
