A great place to learn to surf or refresh your minimal skills before tackling Cox Bay! Staff are friendly, attentive, skilled and offer lots of support in the water. The only recommendation I would have is to offer hoods in the off season rather than make the assumption that 'it isn't needed' because it's warm enough (which may be true... More

We stayed at the Pacific Sands and Surf Sisters is conveniently located on the resort property in Cox Bay. Such a great experience! The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming - especially Kate:) In additon to setting us up with a terrific instructor, she gave us so many honest and much appreciated tips for things to experience while in Tofino.... I researched before I chose a surf school. There may be cheaper options, but I doubt the quality is equal. My instructor Emma was amazing. I ended up with a private lesson, and couldn't be happier. Emma was knowledgable, not just with surfing, but local life as well. I was even able to surf my final wave for a good... More

Spent the second week of August learning how to surf with Sherri and Remi. They were both great instructors - informative, friendly, and passionate. Basics were covered on the beach, and we hit the water day one - the rest of the week started with a short discussion on surfing conditions and a short q&a for anything that had come... More

Among the surf schools in Tofino, Surf Sister has the best rating based on tripadvisor. Hence, why I chose to do my lessons with them. And I am glad that I did! My instructors, Mouse & Romy, are very knowledgeable and friendly. I originally wanted to sign up for the private one on one session but of course it costs... More

Our 2 teen children spent the afternoon in private lessons with Surf Sister - it was definitely the highlight of their vacation! Water temperature was not a factor as they provided appropriate gear. The instructor was patient and very encouraging - would highly recommend it!

We had a semi-private lesson for my daughter 9 (age 9) and myself (age 45). I am definitely not the most fit person but I had a great time. I have been surfing in Hawaii before, so I was concerned about being cold but Surf Sisters found a long wetsuit which fit me and kept me just as warm as... More

Great place! Lots of fun. I thought I would be cold but the wet suits provided kept us very warm. It was worth it to take the lesson . They offer beginner lessons 1 and 2. The instructors had lots of prior surf experience around the globe.

I had a great morning taking the day one group lesson. There were 7 people in the class with two instructors, Chelsea and Eliza. We met in the parking lot at Cox Bay Beach. The instructors bring all of your gear to the lot. The size of suit issued is based on your weight and height. Mine fit perfectly. My... More
