RED Mountain is the last great, unspoiled resort. Located in Rossland, BC,...

RED Mountain is the last great, unspoiled resort. Located in Rossland, BC, along the famous "Powder Highway," RED delivers 4,200 acres of pristine skiing unfettered by overdevelopment. For 2013-14, we've added nearly 1,000 acres of mostly-intermediate terrain on Grey Mountain - an entirely new peak. (Well, OK, Grey's been there for millions of years, but without runs or lifts on it.) With 300"/7.6m of annual snowfall, wide-open groomers, epic vertical (2,919ft/890m!), in-bounds cat-skiing, 360 degree descents off select peaks, a rich tradition, and - phew! - the BEST tree runs in BC, it's no wonder The NY Times voted us their #8 "Best Place in the World to Visit in 2013." Other accolades include #1 in Powder's "Ski Town Throwdown," and "Most Underrated Resort" by Skiing. Around here, we pride ourselves on fresh turns that you don't have to fight for... Aside from the legendary skiing and snowboarding, RED boasts world-class cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, movie nights and après action in Rafters, "North America's Best Ski Area Bar" according to Powder Magazine (and us...). Modern ski in/out lodging, fine dining, a professional ski school, guiding, high-performance rentals, daycare that's just steps away from gourmet espresso, and a free shuttle to Rossland round out our offering. With Rossland's turn-of-the-century charm and our legendarily friendly locals, RED Mountain Resort is the full vacation package: Everything you need. Nothing you don't. (The only fluff we offer is our snow!)

Great mountain for steep tree skiing. No lines, and people are great! Town of Rossland has cool vibe.

Fantastic skiing, lifts a bit slow, old and unreliable but when you get to the top, its fabulous. Pick your line and ski it. Try a day's Shred the Red, out with an instructor just to see the mountain and try some challenging stuff. Favourite run - Beer Belly. Needs more eateries on the hill. It will come in time.... More

In a somewhat isolated location; about 2.5 hours north of Spokane; roads good though. Huge terrain, 2900 ft vertical, clearly veers towards expert skiers. Blue runs would be blacks other places; blacks would be double blacks and many double blacks would easily count as extreme skiing for a resort (and would be roped off at many ski areas). Older slow... More

This is my favorite ski hill in the Canadian Rockies. they have fantastic coverage and in some spots knee deep powder. my favorite run is definitely beer belly, great run with powder and awesome glades at the bottom.

Red Mountain Resort is a skier's mountain. It's old school and they like it that way. There are no hi-speed, detach quads; there are no fancy lodges serving $20 lunches; there are no folks hanging out in the Bogner ski suits just to be seen. People who come to Red come to Red because they are good to very good... More

Great place when the snow is deep but not much fun otherwise. Not many of the runs seemed to be groomed overnight leading to most of the steep stuff being v bumpy and not much fun in flat light. The lifts are in serious need of an upgrade, all are old and slow but on the other hand the slopes... More

Red Mountain is a ski resort with interesting and accessible terrain for all levels of skiers. It is located in British Columbia near the Canadian/Washington State border, about a three hour drive north of Spokane. Red Resort has everything -- from groomed runs to powder skiing in the trees and the entire mountain ski complex consists of three connected mountains:... More

Locals want this place to stay a secret and fully understand why. The terrain options, snow, locals and easy going vibe make this place truly special and one of a kind. If you want high speed lifts and lines or the glitz and glamour of a "big" resort and town go elsewhere. Good for families and all the way up... More

I only live 3 hours away from Red, and it took me 20 years to visit but I am so glad i did. My friend and I stayed a week. As the week progressed it just got better and better. There's really 3 mountains a part of Red from the base lodge and each have their own perks and downsides.... More
