We drove up to Mount Hays on the bumpy road, but it was worth every bump! The views from the top are spectacular. I wont need to go again, but very glad we didi it.

Just got back from this hike, it was pretty long (about 2 hours up - we ended up getting a ride back down with a friendly family) and there's not much going on view-wise until you get to the top but it was worth it....More

Hiked this mountain and it was totally amazing took awhile we drove up where you could then stopped at spots and found a place to lunch it and relax it was very enjoyable I loved it and have fabulous pictures

I would think that at this time of year you may run across a bear, not sure about the Cougars, you might want to speak with some one who lives in that area before you venture up.
