Most of the pathways are paved so it makes it nice for strollers and wheelchairs. The trailway is near the water for fishing or bird watching. There are open bathrooms here in summer. There are lots of signs to read a bit about the dam...More

So much to see. Lots of stops and really nice paved trails. Little information signs and beaches. An off leash dog area, where they can swim.

There is an off leash area for the dogs that is just wonderful. Many trails through the park. We can fish in the lake, view the ducks, view the otters. People are so friendly as you walk on the trails.

Colliery Dam park is the best place within the Nanaimo city limits to let your dogs roam around off-leash. Be careful though, there is a designated woofie area at this park. The furry kids can only be let off their restraints in the upper park...More

This nature park is tucked away by Van. Island University - ample parking, lovely areas for walking, hiking, swimming, picnicing -- bring the dogs and kids .. fun for all AND a great way to relax and unwind !
